Cotter notched an assist, two shots on goal, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Predators.
Cotter (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision Saturday against Detroit, according to Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Sun.
Capable of playing different roles up front, he has pushed his way into the NHL thanks to his combination of size and speed, along with a good scoring touch. He is learning to move without the puck to put himself in scoring position, which could enable him to play higher up in the lineup.
